heating tips

when you have turned the heating of for the summer your boiler needs to be looked after ( the same as your car ) so it would need a quick service to get it ready for the winter again.

get a new oil jet fitted in the burner this is not a big job.

while the burner is out of the boiler get the inside cleaned out as there might be some dirt inside.

turn the oil of at the boiler and clean the oil filter remember to turn it on again.

make sure pipe covering has not come of any heating the pipework.

any pipework outside or underground should be covered with no less than 19 m/m thick lagging and then wrapped with water proof covering , this will stop any freezing of water.

try not to paint new radiators as this will be a job you will have to repeat every time they go yellow , wash them with hot water and washing-up liquid to keep them clean.

you could fit themostatic valves at all radiators to save money by not over heating rooms that are not use.

when your heating is on , heat your hot water cylinder as well this will save you money and save you using your emersion heater.
